THE LEGACY OF SOL
A story-driven sci-fi 4X real-time strategy game. Explore new star systems, establish colonies, command fleets, and decide whether diplomacy or military force will secure humanity’s future.
Legacy of Sol™ is a story-driven sci-fi 4X RTS where your strategic choices and the story shape each other. Explore the galaxy, build functioning colonies, develop new technologies, and command your fleets in real time.
Not every conflict has to be solved with weapons. You can negotiate trade agreements, build alliances, or impose your will through military force. Intelligent AI opponents expand, gather resources, build fleets, and react to your decisions.
Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate: explore, expand, exploit resources, and defeat your opponents or deal with them through diplomacy.
RTSReal-time strategy: events across the galaxy unfold in real time while you command fleets, colonies, and research.
Follow the main storyline or explore every corner of the galaxy if you want a much deeper adventure. You decide whether to focus on the key events or spend hundreds of hours on colonization, research, diplomacy, and war.
The first three stages already form the backbone of the game. Two further eras are currently in development, but they are already part of the full vision.
Survey Mars and establish the first self-sustaining colonies.

The shadow of war grows, and past decisions begin to matter more.

IN-GAME CINEMATIC
The campaign connects its strategic layers through dialogue, reports, video cinematics, and decision points. The story evolves around your choices and the capabilities of your fleets.
The main direction of the story is set, but your relationships, battles, and strategic decisions determine how you reach each turning point and what condition humanity is in when the next crisis arrives.

Pause or accelerate events at your own pace.
Research, shipyards, fleets, and messages in one unified interface.
Coordinate research, patrol, colony, and jump ships.
Resources, population, infrastructure, and planetary defense.
Gradually unlock new ship classes and technologies.
Choose whether alliances, trade, or military force will shape the story.
Every ship class serves a different purpose. Exploration, colonization, defense, and interstellar movement are all parts of one system.

Legacy of Sol™ is being created by a small independent development team. We combine more than 25 years of development experience with a passion for space strategy, classic science fiction, and story-driven games.
We are not building a generic space game. We are creating a world where exploration matters, decisions have consequences, and a single diplomatic or military move can change the fate of entire star systems.
The game will be completed regardless of community funding. Community support can help us move faster, create more content, begin testing sooner, and realize the full vision at a higher visual, musical, and technical standard.
Become part of developmentDevelopment of Legacy of Sol™ continues independently of community support. Reached milestones make additional content, deeper systems, and a higher audiovisual standard possible.
More and longer story cinematics, more detailed scenes, unique faction introductions, additional character portraits, advanced visual effects, new system backgrounds and space phenomena. More professional sound effects, additional original musical themes, dynamic music, and narrated key scenes.
More side missions, more complex mission chains, more decision points and alternative solutions. Deeper lore, an integrated galactic encyclopedia, faction, technology and historical databases, hidden storylines, ruins, abandoned ships and ancient facilities.
A more detailed relationship system with reputation and trust, trade and research agreements, neutrality and non-aggression pacts, mediation, treaty violations, betrayal, joint campaigns, sanctions, and trade blockades.
Galactic events such as supernovae, epidemics, coups, pirate invasions, and technological breakthroughs. Deeper colony management with planetary specialization, satisfaction, local politics, construction chains and migration, plus fleet doctrines, admirals, and automated resupply.
Assemble friendly and enemy fleets, choose ship levels, technologies, planetary defense units, environments, AI behavior and tactical formations, then analyze battle results and losses independently of the campaign.
Create your own galaxy: set its size, number of star systems, factions and starting positions, technology level, resource abundance, AI difficulty, diplomatic relations, pirate activity, story events, and victory conditions.
These milestones represent expansions beyond the planned base-game content. The detailed technical scope of the listed features may change during design and testing while preserving each milestone’s core purpose and value. Every reached level also helps us involve additional programmers, artists, animators, composers, writers, translators, and testers.
Our public, deliberately conservative roadmap based on the current state of development.
Integrating game systems, expanding story stages, technical stabilization, and continuous internal testing.
Our goal is for eligible Founder and Patron supporters to be the first to try the alpha build in development and provide direct feedback.
During the closed beta, eligible Explorer, Founder and Patron supporters can test the game more broadly and help refine it through their feedback.
Based on testing, we will fix issues, refine gameplay and balance, and finalize the content required for public release.
Public release of the final Legacy of Sol™ and delivery of digital game copies to eligible supporters.
The schedule is a target and may change based on development and testing. Completion of Legacy of Sol™ does not depend on the amount of community funding; contributions increase the game’s depth, richness of content, and audiovisual quality.
Display order: supporters are displayed in descending order by the package fee paid. For equal package fees, alphabetical order by supporter name determines the order.
The exact size, placement, duration, and visual treatment of supporter names and logos will be determined before final release, taking into account the number of supporters, support amounts, and the technical and visual constraints of each surface. All recognition will follow the game’s unified visual identity.
Supporter recognition does not provide ownership, decision-making rights, or gameplay advantages. Names and logos may appear only after prior approval and in a lawful form consistent with the game’s identity.
The timing, duration, technical conditions, and participant count of alpha and beta testing depend on the current state of development. Tester access does not grant decision-making or approval rights regarding development.
Thank you to everyone whose exceptional support contributes to the development of Legacy of Sol™.
